A love letter to Bengali cuisine and culture
Rooted in tradition yet shaped by Sydney’s diverse food scene, Kolkata Social introduces guests to the depth and complexity of Bengali flavours beyond the typical Indian dishes seen in the West. At the helm is Ahana Dutt, a Kolkata-born chef whose journey has taken her from India to some of Sydney’s most renowned kitchens, including Firedoor and Raja. With a deep respect for local produce and time-honoured cooking techniques, Ahana’s menu is a personal tribute to the dishes she grew up with.
From smoky mustard oil-kissed barramundi to spiced ricotta wrapped in banana leaves, every plate tells a story of heritage and home. And just like every Plate It Forward venue, dining at Kolkata Social means more than just great food—it’s about creating impact.
With every set menu ordered, we donate meals to those in need—one in Sydney and one overseas through our charity partner, Calcutta Rescue. This pioneering Indian-registered charity is dedicated to improving the lives of Kolkata’s most vulnerable communities, providing vital healthcare, education, and nutrition to those who need it most.
Come for the food, stay for the stories, and be part of something bigger.
